On the evening of Friday, February 6, 2026, a fatal encounter unfolded outside a bar in the Briar Forest area of Houston, Texas, claiming the life of 42-year-old Maxie Worthy, a Black / African American male. The incident occurred at approximately 8:25 p.m. in the 1900 block of South Kirkwood Road. Worthy was standing outside the establishment when he was approached by two or three individuals. An interaction between Worthy and the suspects escalated, resulting in Worthy being shot.
