In the early hours of Wednesday, February 25, 2026, a quiet residence on the east side of Marion, Indiana, became the scene of a fatal shooting. Thomas W. Gray, a 74-year-old male, was found inside his home at 135 N 700 E by Grant County sheriff's deputies who were responding to a reported shooting at approximately 5:58 a.m. Despite life-saving efforts, Mr. Gray was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:16 a.m. An autopsy would later reveal that he had sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest.
