In the early hours of a Tuesday morning in Atlanta, a 17-year-old’s life was cut short in a sudden and senseless act of violence. Rashawn Mackey, a young man working as a food delivery driver, was fatally shot on April 14, 2026. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. inside a BP gas station on Metropolitan Parkway. Atlanta police officers responded to a call and found Mackey with a gunshot wound to his chest. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
