Shannon Dawson, a 43-year-old woman from Atlanta, Georgia, was killed on April 27, 2026, after gunfire erupted outside the Little Bear Food Mart at 1660 Jonesboro Road SE in southeast Atlanta’s Lakewood Heights area. What began as an argument between groups of people outside the store quickly turned into a shootout, and Dawson was not believed to be part of the dispute. Police said she was one of three innocent bystanders struck when bullets were fired in the middle of the day.
