In the early hours of April 14, 2026, a tragedy unfolded at a BP gas station on Metropolitan Parkway in southwest Atlanta, cutting short the life of 17-year-old Rashawn Mackey. The teenager was working, reportedly as a food delivery driver, when he was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. when police were called to the scene and found Mackey inside the gas station with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
