In the early evening of April 1, 2026, in Gastonia, North Carolina, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace in the 2000 block of Hine Way. When police arrived at the scene around 7:45 p.m., they discovered 19-year-old Izaiyah Wilson, who had been fatally shot. Another young man, 18-year-old Donta Degree, was also found at the scene with critical, life-threatening injuries. Degree was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
