In the early morning hours of Sunday, August 9, 2026, a violent encounter in an East Dallas neighborhood culminated in the shooting death of 33-year-old Adrian Ortiz. Dallas police were dispatched to the 3500 block of North Buckner Boulevard at approximately 9:11 a.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Ortiz suffering from a gunshot wound.
