The incident occurred at approximately 4:55 A.M. when officers from the Greensboro Police Department responded to a shooting at 510 Farragut Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Carlton Smith suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save him, he was later pronounced deceased due to his injuries.
