On a Sunday afternoon in Kansas City, Missouri, the life of 45-year-old James M. "Mike" Basham was brought to a sudden and violent end. On September 13, 2026, police were dispatched to a residence in the 11000 block of N. McGee following a 911 call reporting a shooting inside the home. Upon arrival, officers discovered Basham unresponsive, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
