On April 21, 2017, Mohamed Mohamed, a 21-year-old resident of Columbus, Ohio, succumbed to injuries sustained during a shooting incident. The shooting occurred on April 17, 2017, around 1:56 a.m., in the vicinity of the 800 block of Wedgewood Drive, Columbus. When officers arrived at the scene, they found multiple victims, including Mohamed Mohamed and Omar Ali, who were shot in and around a vehicle parked in the street.
