On December 26, 2016, 19-year-old Mohamud Mohamed was shot and killed in Columbus, Ohio. The incident took place at approximately 12:12 p.m. in the 1000 block of Caldwell Place. Officers and medics responded to a report of a shooting and found Mohamud inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to Grant Hospital in critical condition, but he succumbed to his injuries later that evening at around 9:24 p.m.
