On July 10, 2013, 18-year-old Derrick Da' Shawn Williams was tragically shot and killed in Steubenville, Ohio. The incident occurred around 3:22 a.m. at a residence located at 1124 Claire Avenue. Responding to reports of gunfire, Steubenville Police discovered Derrick Williams deceased inside the home, having suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Four other individuals were also present in the residence at the time of the shooting but were unharmed.
