In the early hours of March 16, 2021, the stillness of a Bessemer, Alabama neighborhood was broken by the sound of gunshots. Responding to the reports at approximately 1:18 a.m., Bessemer police officers arrived in the 1500 block of Berkley Alley to find a scene that would soon become a lingering mystery.
