In the early morning hours of December 9, 2021, the life of 41-year-old Leremus Karzell Oden, a Black male, was tragically cut short in his Bessemer, Alabama, residence. At approximately 4:30 a.m., Oden was fatally shot during what authorities have described as a domestic altercation. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office confirmed that Oden's death was the result of a gunshot wound sustained in the incident, and he was pronounced dead at the scene in the 500 block of 12th Street North.
