On February 7, 2019, Keith Terrell Cooperwood, a 29-year-old Black man, was killed in a shooting outside the Nine90 Wisteria Apartments on Wisteria Place in Hoover, Alabama. In the afternoon, police were called to the apartment complex after reports of gunfire in the parking lot near the 1300 building. When officers arrived, Cooperwood was found shot and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 3 p.m., according to authorities and the Jefferson County coroner’s identification.
