In the spring of 2020, a tragedy unfolded on a Birmingham interstate that cut short the life of a young father. Deondray Montrell Reese, a 28-year-old male, was driving on Interstate 59/20 on the evening of Thursday, April 16, 2020, when he was struck by gunfire. The shooting caused his vehicle to crash, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. At the time of his death, Reese was a father to three children with another one on the way.
