In the fall of 2020, the life of 71-year-old Javanna Cotton Owens, a Black female, was tragically cut short in Birmingham, Alabama. On the evening of September 13th, she was found lying in the street in the 1700 block of an east Birmingham neighborhood, the victim of a fatal shooting.
