In the early hours of a February morning in 2022, the life of 26-year-old Alexander Kade Lanier of Greenwood, South Carolina, came to a violent end in Oxford, Alabama. Just after midnight, Lanier carjacked a vehicle at gunpoint in the parking lot of a Waffle House.
