In the late hours of a Friday in Bessemer, Alabama, a dispute at the intersection of 24th Street and Berkley Avenue turned deadly. On May 6, 2022, Warren Oliver 'Berney' Weatherspoon, a 48-year-old Black/African American male, was involved in an argument that tragically escalated. In the ensuing violence, Weatherspoon was shot.
