Jonathan Earl Dancer, a 26-year-old man from Birmingham, Alabama, was shot during a late-morning confrontation on March 16, 2022, at East Park Place Apartments in the 6400 block of Division Avenue. Police were dispatched around noon and arrived to find him suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, the scene still fresh with the urgency of a dispute that had just boiled over. He was rushed to the hospital, but the injury proved fatal, and he died shortly after.
