In the fading daylight of a late spring evening in Birmingham, Alabama, the life of Maurice Montrell Lewis, a 29-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short. On May 31, 2022, in the 1100 block of Center Street North, Lewis was found suffering from a gunshot wound. The events that led to the shooting are not publicly known.
