Johnny Markie Lewis, a 34-year-old Black male, was found dead early on the morning of August 28, 2024, in the 2900 block of Avenue F in Birmingham’s Ensley area. Police were sent there just after 6:30 a.m. on a report of a person down, and when officers arrived they found him lying unresponsive. Birmingham Fire and Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene.
