In the early evening of January 6, 2024, the life of 43-year-old Ledaron Keith Pope, a Black male, was tragically cut short in his Birmingham, Alabama, residence. Responding to a call of a person shot at approximately 5:05 p.m. in the 8400 block of 7th Avenue South in the South East Lake neighborhood, Birmingham Police Department officers discovered Pope unresponsive inside the home.
