Valdez Deundra Stephenson, a 37-year-old Black or African American man, was found fatally shot in the roadway of 13th Avenue North in Birmingham, Alabama, on the evening of May 29, 2024. Responding to a call, police discovered Stephenson with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His death is being investigated by the Birmingham Police Department as a homicide.
