In the early morning hours of September 2, 2016, the life of 28-year-old Lamar Purnell Parrish, a Black male, was tragically cut short on a street in Northeast Washington, D.C. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call and discovered Parrish in the 2500 block of 14th Street NE, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
