In the summer of 2022, the life of 32-year-old Bibb County Sheriff's Deputy Brad Johnson was tragically cut short in the line of duty. On June 29th, Johnson and his partner, Deputy Chris Poole, were engaged in a pursuit of a stolen vehicle in rural Bibb County, near Centreville, Alabama. The chase ended in a violent confrontation when the suspect opened fire on the two deputies. Both officers were struck by gunfire, with Johnson sustaining a critical head wound.
