In the spring of 2022, the life of 22-year-old Devonte Barnett, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Eufaula, Alabama. On the afternoon of Saturday, April 23, multiple 911 calls reported gunfire in the vicinity of South Randolph Avenue. When Eufaula Police Department officers arrived at the scene around 3:28 p.m., they discovered Barnett suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
