In the late hours of a Friday in Eufaula, Alabama, the life of Smiley Wilson, a 50-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short. On February 16, 2024, police responded to reports of gunfire in the 2000 block of Fox Ridge Road. Upon their arrival at 7 P.M., they discovered Wilson outside a residence with multiple gunshot wounds. First responders attempted to render medical aid, but his injuries were too severe, and he succumbed to them at the scene before he could be transported to a hospital.
