In the early morning hours of June 7, 2021, a grim discovery was made in Mobile, Alabama, at the intersection of Betbeze and Mobile Streets. The bodies of two young men were found lying in the roadway, both having sustained fatal gunshot wounds. One of the victims was identified as 21-year-old Joshua Womble, a male resident of the city. The other victim was 20-year-old Doreon Howard. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
