In the late afternoon of January 30, 2020, emergency services responded to a call in the 1900 block of Hilldale Drive in Montgomery, Alabama, where they found 22-year-old Jonvontae Goode with a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was quickly taken to a local hospital for medical attention, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
