On a summer evening in Birmingham, Alabama, the life of 36-year-old Sikeisha Lanette Mitchell, a Black female, was tragically cut short. On August 4, 2018, police responded to a call of a shooting at her Southside apartment located at 909 23rd Street South. Upon arrival, officers discovered Mitchell unresponsive, having sustained a gunshot wound to her head.
