In the summer of 2018, a dispute in Selma, Alabama, turned fatal, ending the life of 24-year-old Leon Lamar Sanders, a male resident of the city. On July 14, 2018, at the intersection of First Avenue and Lauderdale Street, a fight is believed to have broken out between Sanders and another man.
