In the early hours of September 12, 2017, the quiet of a Mobile, Alabama neighborhood was broken by violence. Inside a residence on Gulfwood Drive East, 28-year-old Brandon Cadwell, a Black male, was found shot to death alongside another man, 31-year-old Reginald Crenshaw Jr. Mobile police officers responded to a call at approximately 12:26 a.m. and discovered the two men, both having sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The incident was investigated as a double homicide that stemmed from a robbery.
