In the early morning hours of July 23, 2017, a violent home invasion in the Rabbittown community near Piedmont, Alabama, claimed the lives of 23-year-old Joshua Dylan Moody and his 73-year-old grandfather, Travis Frost. Both men were white. The two were beaten and shot to death inside their home at approximately 4:00 AM. A female family member, who was Frost's wife and Moody's grandmother, was also present during the attack but managed to hide and was unharmed.
