In the early morning hours of July 3, 2016, a Birmingham police officer on patrol discovered the body of 40-year-old Flores Jose Castaneda on Oporto-Madrid Boulevard. Castaneda, a male, had been fatally shot. At the same time, authorities received a call reporting a person shot in that same area.
