In the early morning hours of June 30, 2016, the life of 29-year-old Dontavious Jones, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short in Opelika, Alabama. At approximately 1:30 a.m., Opelika police were dispatched to the 500 block of South Antioch Circle after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered Jones suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to East Alabama Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
