In the course of his duties on a Sunday, October 7, 1973, Birmingham Police Officer Felix Underwood was investigating a traffic accident when his life was tragically cut short. While at the scene, a person described as emotionally disturbed unexpectedly entered Officer Underwood's patrol car and fatally shot him.
