In the winter of 1881, a brave lawman's life was cut short in the line of duty, leaving a somber note on the day after Christmas. Deputy Sheriff Abram S. Johnson of the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office, a male officer, was killed on December 26, 1881, in the Bay Minette area of Alabama.
