Nathan Smith, 27, a male, was shot on the night of July 14, 2021, in the Knollwood community of Claymont, Delaware. Around 9:40 p.m., New Castle County police responded to Balfour Avenue and found Smith and a 16-year-old boy wounded inside a car, with a 19-year-old woman wounded nearby; a fourth victim, an 18-year-old male, later arrived at a hospital. Smith and the teen were pronounced dead after being taken for treatment, while the other two victims were initially listed in critical condition.
