On November 9, 2023, the Leon County Sheriff's Office responded to a call around 9:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Cedar Hill Road in Tallahassee, Florida. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the lifeless body of 22-year-old Artez Marquis Moore, an African American male, near the boat landing area at Carr Lake. An autopsy confirmed the nature of the death to be a homicide.
