On May 12, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred in Pompano Beach, Florida, resulting in the death of 32-year-old Andrew Ford. The incident took place just before 3 a.m. on Northwest Sixth Street, between 23rd Terrace and South Powerline Road. Deputies from the Broward Sheriff's Office (BSO) responded to reports of shots fired and found Andrew Ford suffering from gunshot wounds.
A deputy immediately administered life-saving measures until Pompano Beach Fire Rescue arrived and transported Ford to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Neighbors described Andrew Ford as a "very good" and "very humble person." One of the neighbors, William Butler, reported hearing about 10 gunshots and saw deputies performing compressions on Ford's chest after the police arrived. The homicide detectives from BSO’s Homicide Unit were notified and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
The investigation is ongoing, and as of the current date, there have been no reported arrests or suspects identified in the case. The BSO is seeking information from the public and has provided contact numbers for anyone with information to come forward.
