On February 13, 2024, Derrick Givings, a 42-year-old resident of Pompano Beach, Florida, was fatally shot in the 2600 block of Northwest Seventh Street. The incident occurred around 12:48 p.m. when Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) deputies responded to a ShotSpotter gunshot alert near Northwest 27th Avenue and Northwest Seventh Street. Upon arrival, they found Givings outside a residence with gunshot wounds.
