In the early morning hours of March 17, 2024, the life of 23-year-old Deon Shontell Coleman Jr., a Black male, was tragically cut short in Natchitoches, Louisiana. At approximately 3:27 a.m., officers responded to a call of a gunshot victim at the intersection of Texas Street and Sixth Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered Coleman suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite any efforts to render aid, the Natchitoches Parish Coroner's Office pronounced him dead at the scene.
