On September 16, 2024, at 1:18 p.m., officers responded to a shooting incident in the 11600 block of Lewisham Place in Waldorf, Maryland. Upon arrival, they discovered Antione Jerome Whitaker, a 44-year-old man from Washington, D.C., with a gunshot wound. Despite first aid efforts by Fire/EMS personnel, Whitaker was pronounced dead at the scene.
