On the night of May 3, 2024, a 20-year-old woman named Nyah Strong Hairston was driving her gray Nissan Versa in Hyattsville, Maryland. She was on her way home after leaving her job at UPS, a commute that should have been routine. Shortly before 10:45 p.m., however, her vehicle was found in a ditch off the southbound lanes of I-495 near Landover Road. What was initially reported as a single-vehicle crash soon revealed a much more tragic reality.
