In the waning hours of the afternoon on March 26, 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the daily rhythm of the 1800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in Baltimore. When the echoes faded, 28-year-old Eugene Fitzgerald, a Black / African American male, was left suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics arrived swiftly and transported him to a local hospital, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
