On the night of January 19, 2024, tragedy struck in the Curtis Bay neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland, claiming the life of 39-year-old Malachi Carter-Bey. A Black male, Carter-Bey was found in the 4300 block of Pennington Avenue suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The incident, which occurred at approximately 10:22 p.m., also resulted in the death of a 60-year-old woman, Mary Schuman, who was discovered at the same location with similar fatal injuries.
