On the evening of November 24, 2023, a 45-year-old U.S. Marine veteran named Darnell Stanley of Temple Hills, Maryland, was fatally shot in Oxon Hill. The incident occurred at approximately 5:10 p.m. in the 600 block of Audrey Lane. Prince George's County police officers responded to a report of a shooting and found Stanley outside, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
