On the evening of October 8, 2023, the sound of gunshots shattered the quiet of a residential neighborhood in an unincorporated section of Takoma Park, Maryland. When Prince George's County Police officers arrived at the 6800 block of Red Top Road at approximately 8:20 p.m., they discovered a man lying outside with gunshot wounds. The man was identified as 45-year-old Jerome Clarke, a male resident of nearby Silver Spring.
