On a late summer evening, the life of 22-year-old Amarnae Ciata Smith was tragically cut short. The young woman from Baltimore was in the 14700 block of Willoughby Road in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, on Saturday, August 26, 2023, when gunfire erupted. Prince George's County Police officers were dispatched to the residential street around 10 p.m. following reports of a shooting.
